Welcome to my talk show. I’m Arpan Ghosh. Today Mr. Amay Saxena is along with me. He is the author of the book, ‘The Death Story’. Welcome Mr. Amay Saxena in this show. Let’s start a chat.
(1)How do you write? Long hand, type writer or computer
=> I usually write on my laptop and sometimes in my diary.
(2)When do you write?
=> I write during night because that is the only time there is peace and I am able to concentrate.
(3)Where do your ideas come from?
=> I write fiction but fiction also needs some real inspiration so that inspiration can come from anywhere. Some mediums are books, TV, friends, etc.
(4)When have you been most satisfied in your life?
=> I am never satisfied with my life. I’m always busy finding meaning of my life in this huge world.
(5)When did you first realise you wanted to be a writer?
=> After my 10th grade, when I started reading fiction, it came to me that I should try writing even though I failed terribly during my initial years.
(6)How long does it take you to write a book?
=> I wrote my first book The Death Story within 7 months. It usually depends on the amount of research needed about the topic.
(7)When did you write your first book and how old were you?
=> I wrote my first book at the age of 17.
(8)What do you like to do when you are not writing?
=> Usually, I like to sleep when I am not writing or research about any topic. If not sleeping, I prefer reading books.
(9)What does your family think of your writings?
=> They liked my first book though they did manage to pull out some mistakes (which is a good thing). Usually, whenever my parents read my writings their reaction is decent, their expressions show they are not too happy. But at the end of the day, I know they are proud of me.
(10)What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
ð There are many things I learned while creating my books but one thing fascinated me the most. Writing a story is not a small thing. While knitting a story you come across time when you’re no longer you. You become someone else while writing a story. For Example: Maybe a writer becomes his leading character or someone from his story but it strongly possesses him. It takes time to get out it or sometimes it never leaves you!
It is baffling to me because I write thrillers, crime and mystery and the first thing I learned before writing was – I have to influence my readers mind, cleverly. But once I start writing, I get very involved with my characters and try to live their life which basically makes me lunatic.
(11)How many books have you written till now? Which is your favourite?
=> I have written only one book The Death Story, yet and sadly, it is not my favourite.
(12)Do you have any suggestion to help me become a better writer? If so what are they?
=> Believe in yourself, read a lot, write at least one page a day, work extremely hard and think different from others.
(13)As a child what did you want to do when you grew up?
=> I was always confused about what I wanted to become but job of teaching intrigues me.
(14)Which writers or authors inspire you?
=> There are a lot of writers who inspire me but I think Sidney Sheldon books is exceptional. His life story itself is an huge inspiration for any writer! I think you should read it? (if you have not read it yet)
(15)What do you think about your writing carrier?
=> Earlier I used to narrate stories to my friends and now I write them. Not much has changed. Lying ability of mine is getting better and better. I will keep on writing books in order to satisfy the “creative me”. Writing has become something without which I cannot live. There are many exciting stories I want to tell and before dying I will tell them all and also will make up some more! One day, I want to be a big writer (just like many others).
(16)Would you like to speak something about your recent book which has been published recently? Briefly describe main characters and on what topic this book is based on?
=> The Death Story, my first book is a horror-thriller suspense novel. The name of the main character is Neha who finds her life full of problems until one day she faces the worst phase of her life. The story is about her struggle, her past, her faith, and how one can be in problem due to someone else’s mistake!
(17)If I ask you why I should read your written book what you are going to say as reasons?
=> If you’re looking for a thriller and suspense novel, you can go with mine. I say, you won’t regret reading the story inside the book!
(18)Does your book carry any message for the society?
ð Every book carries a message for the society. Mine says – Never give up.
(19)Do you have any message for the budding writers?
=> As I said above believe in yourself, in your work, have faith, work extremely hard, and don’t fear failure.
(20) What is success according to you?
=> According to me, success makes a person confident about his work and helps him develop. At the end of it, you’re never successful because success is limitless! It depends on you, where you want to end your journey.
(21) What is your view about this modern society? What do you mean by ‘modern’?
=> Modern Society is a society where people are talking about innovation, development, getting better, trying to pitch different ideas, trying to make this world better, helping each other, etc. Modern means different from traditional but in actuality modern is just a word. Getting modern means not only changing traditional things but to takes those traditional things into a new world of modernisation.
(22) Do you believe in ‘God’? If I ask you to define ‘God’ what do you say?
=> I don’t believe in god. I only believe in hard work. If you work hard, god (even if you don’t believe in god) will help you succeed in life. In simple words, Hard work is god for me.
(23) Do you want to say anything to your audiences?
ð Love you all. Always, keep supporting me!
